Divine Thomas John serves as a Senior Technician in the Desktop Support North team within IT Support Services at the University of Otago. The IT Support Services provides critical technical support across the Dunedin campus, including desktop support in multiple zones (central, north, east, south), AV support, lecture theatre operations, eConferencing, and administration, led by figures such as Senior Manager Emerson Pratt.
With over six years of experience as an IT Support and Systems Engineer specializing in Microsoft 365, Divine Thomas John holds key certifications including Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (issued April 2020), CompTIA A+ (220-1001 and 220-1002) Certified Technician (April 2020), Cisco Certified Network Associate (switching, routing, security), MTA: Introduction to Programming Using Python (February 2021), G-Tec Hardware certification (April 2008), and LinkedIn Learning completions in Windows Server 2016/2019 installation, ITIL, and System Center Configuration Manager. From April 2019 to June 2022, he volunteered as an Information Technology Support Specialist at 180 Degrees Trust - 180 School, handling software support, daily IT issue resolution, hardware repair/replacement, Office 365 and MS Exchange administration, printer server maintenance, staff-IT communication, website updates, and LAN/WiFi setups. Earlier, he managed telecom projects in India, such as the Airtel 4G project (July 2015) in West Bengal, Punjab, and Gujarat, and Reliance 4G project (November 2014) in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Goa, involving installation, commissioning, integration, testing, ATP, and site surveys for Alcatel-Lucent 1830PSS DWDM equipment. Other projects include Windows 10 upgrades (August 2019–February 2020) and e-commerce web design (October 2020).
